Foundation
The Mission of St. Joseph’s Foundation is to maintain the Catholic presence in the provision of long-term care services by providing the financial means which will enable the perpetual existence of our primary beneficiary, St. Joseph’s Home. St. Joseph’s Foundation was formed as a separate non-profit organization in July of 1990 to ensure charitable giving opportunities to benefit St. Joseph’s Home.
The foundation is operated by a Board of Directors and a paid Development Director. For many years, private long-term care facilities have relied on government payer methods like Medicare and Medicaid to provide reimbursements for the care they provide residents. Gradually, federal and state priorities have changed, and funding for these programs is being sharply curtailed with each succeeding budget. Our goal is to grow the Foundations’ endowment so that its earnings keep pace with the declines in government reimbursements. This will enable the institution to enhance the quality of life it offers residents and to offer its employees competitive working conditions, wages and benefits.
Money is the energy for this work. Your gift is used to grow the endowment, not to pay current expenses. That means the money you give today will still be doing its work 100 years from now.
