Foundation

The Mission of St. Joseph’s Foundation is to maintain the Catholic presence in the provision of long term care services by providing the financial means which will enable the perpetual existence of our primary beneficiary, St. Joseph’s Home.

St. Joseph’s Foundation was formed as a separate non-profit organization in July 1990 to ensure charitable giving opportunities to benefit St. Joseph’s Home. The foundation is operated by a board of directors through quarterly meetings and a paid development director.

For many years now, private long term care facilities like St. Joseph’s Home have recovered a large percentage of the cost of delivering care from government reimbursements. But now federal and state priorities have changed, and funding for these programs is being sharply curtailed with each succeeding budget.

Our task is to grow the Foundations’ endowment so that its earnings keep pace with the declines in government reimbursements. This will enable the institution to enhance the quality of life it offers residents and to offer its employees competitive working conditions, wages and benefits.

Money is the energy for this work. Your gift is used to grow the endowment, not to pay current expenses. That means the money you give today will still be doing its work 100 years from now.

How can you help…

  • Become an Angel
  • Purchase a Memorial BrickA single gift through the annual campaign
  • A planned gift, such as a Charitable Gift Annuity
  • Buy a leaf or a rock for the giving tree. (Minimum $2500)
  • A bequest in your will
  • A memorial contribution
  • A gift of shares, properties or assets
  • A designated gift to a specific department at St. Joseph’s or a particular piece of equipment from a list of suggested list of items.
